Controller FP&A

Our client is a very successful specialised media company in a fast-evolving industry and part of a larger renowned group. This is a rare opportunity for a strongly commercially focused finance professional to have accelerated exposure to commercial finance activities for a modern, exciting and fast paced company. Your role will be critical to the further growth and success of the company which is a leader in an extremely competitive space. You will have significant exposure to and coaching from the CFO and you will work closely with the Management Team and the Accounting, Business Development and Technical Operations teams.

Your tasks will include but not be limited to:

• Business plans, discounted cash flows, investment Appraisals, project tracking and post investment reviews
• Preparation of forecast and budgeting planning cycles, diligencing numbers and timely reporting to Group
• Business partnering and support of the internal departments in the areas of planning and budgeting including weekly sales controlling and BI analysis
• Financial Due Diligence on financial plan, Responsible for doing “Checks and balances”
• Preparation of Tender financial analysis and presentations with CFO, circa 1 per month
• Complete Monthly close variance analysis for CFO review and submission to Group HQ, assist accounting team with checks on key revenue and cost items for monthly close accuracy
• Barter analysis
• 3-year plans for planning cycles, strongly focused on sales
• Occasional visits to other offices in CH
• Keep open lines of communication with Group colleagues
• Support in the further development of the controlling function, analyses, tools, systems, reports, and dashboards
• Help prepare Board presentations for CEO, development of analytical evaluations for the CFO
• Representing the CFO in his absence

Your profile:

• You have 3-5 years’ experience in a Financial Planning and Analysis role with a focus on sales controlling and business partnering OR an audit background with successful completion (or soon) of a Chartered Accountancy qualification
• You have a commercially focused and curious analytical mind, and you always focus your efforts on the pursuit of supporting the win of profitable business deals
• Ideally you have experience either auditing or directly working within a services company with a strong sales operation. Media/Advertising exposure would be additionally advantageous
• You should be a proactive individual – someone who can identify, assess, and deal with problems as they arise
• You have a proven highly collaborative working style and a respectful manner, taking into consideration other people’s objectives and working styles
• You have a pragmatic ‘get on with it attitude’ and you ask the right questions and are prepared to go above and beyond
• You have energy and resilience, understanding the need to sometimes ‘dig deep’ and simply get things done for the greater good
• You are motivated to advance your own learning, taking calculated risks and making sure you fail forwards
• You have a university degree or an equivalent professional qualification
• You have fluency in German & English (French would be an advantage)
